First-visit guide

Things to do in Pattaya—without trying to do everything

Pattaya works best when you mix one substantial outing with time to wander, eat and cool down. This guide gives you a practical framework rather than an exhausting checklist.

Choose one coastline day

Spend a slower day around Pattaya Beach or Jomtien, or make Koh Lan your main outing. For an island day, check current boat conditions and return times locally before leaving.

Add one cultural or scenic stop

The Sanctuary of Truth, the Phra Tamnak viewpoint and Khao Chi Chan each provide a different perspective. Temples and religious sites require respectful clothing and behaviour.

Leave room for food

Pattaya's range stretches from seafood and regional Thai cooking to international restaurants. Choose places that display prices clearly and look busy with local diners.

Plan around the weather

The heat can make ambitious itineraries unpleasant. Build in shade, water and rest; keep an indoor alternative for heavy rain.

A sensible first day:

Explore your immediate neighbourhood, visit one viewpoint or cultural attraction, take a long meal break and finish near the coast.
